OG 95" T-Sport (FXDXT) Luxury Blue
The T-sport is arguably one of the best motorcycles Harley ever made. Its iconic look has inspired today's popular style of motorcycle that a lot of guys are riding. From its fairing to the saddlebags, just have a look around and you'll see re-pops by many aftermarket companies on the bikes of thousands of Harley riders. Most riders don't even know that these parts were unique to the T-sport... "what fairing is that?" or "what bags are those?"
I found this rare 2001 Luxury Blue (less than 500 produced world-wide in 01) T-sport in San Diego. I jumped on the first flight to SD the next day, rented a uHaul, loaded it up and drove back to Sacramento same-day.
It was missing the fairing and saddle bags, but the factory wrinkle black powder was in excellent shape -- the bike was super well taken care of by the previous owner.

FRESH OFF THE TRAILER
I found this Luxury Blue T-sport in SoCal, naked and missing a lot of the OEM parts that give these bikes their iconic look. But, the price was right for the rare colorway and clean drivetrain.

HUNTING FOR OEM PARTS
It's not a T-sport without the fairing and saddlebags... And I'm not talking about a knockoff Krator fairing from Amazon. OEM T-sport fairings are getting harder to find in good working condition.
-
GETTING THE OG LOOK
Bars, Thunderheader, Saddlemen, fresh wrinkle black powder, and all the OEM factory accessories you like to see. And, I always do LED lighting all around with brand new cables and lines. It's hard to make them this clean.

CAM CHEST UPGRADE
An OG stock-looking T-SPORT is awesome, but a stock 88" Twin Cam is not awesome. The first thing I do when I buy a 99-05 Dyna is pull out the OEM cam chain tensioner and toss it in the trash.
-
95" POWER UPGRADE
Along with upgrading the cam chain tensioner I like to beef up the motor a bit. It's a fairly easy project to bore those stock 88" cylinders to a 95" and pop in some Weisco pistons.

READY TO ROLL!
After a few heat cycles and a fluid change, she's ready for some shake down miles. I always put a few hundred miles on these bikes before they leave my shop forever and change hands.
-
LESS FLASH, MORE CLASS
I've said it before and I'll say it again: DXT's don't need much to look gangster. Less is more. I stick with the original color scheme (tins, frame, wrinkle/chrome), but I add some quality aftermarket parts (bars, pipe, seat, etc). You get fresh fluids and new lines/cables too. Always.

THIS IS CALLED 'OEM PLUS'
The formula:
OEM goodies: fairing, bags, shocks, 13-spoke mags, paint + factory accessory options: mini passenger floorboards, Dyna chin spoiler + OG aftermarket parts: Thunderheader, seat, bars, LED lighting all around.
